Amy Howerska
Amy Howerska is a Welsh-born writer and producer. The first in her family to attend college, she earned a scholarship to Oxford University, where she graduated top of her class in English Literature and Film. She then began her career in Film and TV, working on the award-winning sports documentary Football Fables in 2009, which led to a position at the British Film Institute's London Film Festival 2009-13. Her final roles at the BFI were Assistant to the Director of the London Film Festival and then, latterly, in Communications. Post-BFI, Howerska worked in digital PR. It was her Edinburgh Fringe show in 2018 that got her noticed by the BBC writers' room, and she was selected along with five other up-and-coming Welsh writers to participate in a BBC Wales writers' room fellowship, the result of which was a pilot 'The Outsiders' for BBC 2 starring Morfydd Clark. In recent years, Howerska has returned to documentary work, earning producing credits on Channel 4's Meet the QAnon Shaman (2021) and Aether Films' feature documentary Free Power (2026), on which she served as both a producer and writer.
